Users don’t give a fu*k if you use blockchain/ web3 in your app
I’ve been developing in web3 for more than one year, during this time I’ve explored many products, gotten a chance to interact with many developers, founders, and explore crypto Twitter and communities.
The one common thing I’ve noticed in “Entry level” developers and a few experience devs as well is they want to build everything in a decentralized manner don’t get me wrong here all of them are amazing people & great developers.
But one thing they tend to forget is,
Blockchain can also be used as a part of your application, you don’t need to build your whole application on top of Blockchain or use blockchain at all places.
Not all apps, especially basic apps need Blockchain or can benefit from it.
Let’s be honest regular users (for example my parents) don’t give shit if your app is decentralized, or if it’s using blockchain and web3, for them all that matters is if it’s solving a problem for them.
The underline here is
Don’t build to build on blockchain, build something which provides a solution to a problem blockchain might or might not be a part of your solution.
Use blockchain where it provides actual value, and not for just the sake of it or because it is fancy.
You might be thinking where can we use blockchain/ web3 in apps?
I’ve already written my thoughts on this in this thread here
